I have always thought Biden to one of the biggest demagogues in Washington. He is the ultimate windbag. He has an opinion on every topic and he feels the need to express it no matter what. It often gets him into trouble. For example, he says that you have to haven an Indian accent to work at a 7-Eleven (a stereotype repeated by Hillary Clinton). He called Obama a "the first mainstream African American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy." He apologized for these statements, but he has a habit of putting his foot in his mouth, and it often is a stereotype. I will be very surprised if he gets through the campaign season without at least one gaffe.
Obama also likes the sound of his own voice, but he is absolutely a fish out of water without a teleprompter. Obama is beginning to wear thin with the voters, and the Biden selection probably won't help with that. The Obama-Biden ticket will be one of the biggest windbag tickets in recent memory. I think this choice hurts Obama's chances. If he could have swallowed his pride and picked Hillary, I think he would have guaranteed himself the presidency.

I think I am going to have to agree with you on that one. It appears that Europe seems to praise his VP selection. Interesting! It will be a close one, but I don't think Obamas choice for VP was the best choice either. I think if he really wanted to win, he should have chosen Hillary.
I do not know that I would have approved of any pick because I do not agree with any of their policies. They are all so transparent. They keep referring to the Bush/McCain years. Do they not realize it was the Bush/Chenney ticket these last eight years? It was as much a Bush/Biden previous eight years as a Bush/McCain eight years in that both McCain and Biden worked in the same senate. And so what if he has seven houses. I thought prosperity was what America was all about.
The Democrats are always trying to be clever with words. They think by mentioning Bush and McCain in the same breath that somehow Bush's unpopularity will be associated with McCain. I suppose that there are some weak-minded people that will fall for that, but normally such weak-minded people don't bother to vote. Also, the attempt to make McCain look like an elitist will ultimately fail. Who cannot see the hypocrisy of that? The Democrats in Congress are well-documented to be richer than the Republicans in Congress.
Yep....Obama is right in there with the rich. He earned millions off of his two books and his residence is worth 1.5 million dollars. The people who tried to nail McCain for not knowing how many properties he had didn't mention that some of his properties are realestate investments and he doesn't actually live on them. This is America...what is wrong with having several investment properties, lots of people do. And they forgot to mention that he knows what it is like to live in dyer circumstances, given he lived in a prison cell for 5 years as a prisoner of war, without a chair, table bed etc. He did his hardship time...he deserves his 4 homes and investment properties as far as I am concerned. He just happened to marry into wealth. Why would people hold that against him?
I love this family. You folks are right on course!! I am so proud of you. You not have great insight but you can express it just the way I would.
While I do agree withmost of the comments here I must ask a question about a recent McCain ad that I saw on t.v. that realy bothered me. It starts off stating the "Washington is broken" and infers that McCain knows how to fix it. What the heck has McCain been doing all of these years in Washington? If Washington is broken...then he is part of the problem that broke it since he's been there so long! Tht didn't resonate with me! While I do agree that Obama blew his one chance at winning, McCain still has his chance to blow it also. If he wants to guarantee a victory...he needs to select Romney for two real reasons. First, he would solidify the Republican party (unlike Obama and Clinton). Second, by selecting Romney, he would be eleminating a potential competitor for the 2012 Presidential elections...no VP ever runs against his President! That would mean that Romney would have to wait until 2016 to run for president. If McCain selects someone else, Romney will run again in 2012 and could very possibly beat McCain!
I was very relieved when I read that Obama had chosen Biden. I was afraid that he would chose Clinton, therefore would have had more chances to win the Presidency. As Teresa was saying Europeans are always pro democrats as they are fed by the Media. They think they know but they do not know the true facts.

Yes Deric, but with the senate majority being Democrats, how is he supposed to fix things when they shoot everything down. He has been very bipartisen and has reached across party lines on more than one occasion trying to "fix things", but the Dems won't have it. It's not that he hasn't tried.
