A milestone

Comedians have shied away from telling Obama jokes or spoofing his administration, but Saturday Night Light may have broken the ice with this skit.

In general, I do not recommend SNL stuff. Most of it is pretty offensive, so I recommend that you don't follow the links that come up after this clip.

Loved it. I'm impatient with him, so the check list really resounded with me, thing is, and because I am impatient, I didn't find it funny, but poignant.

This is the first comedic act that I have seen poking fun of Obama. It is refreshing in that we all have to laugh at the serious side on occasion, including at ourselves. Besides, they have done it to every President in the past...even the dead ones.

It did make me smile, however, the changes that he promised could never be made in such a short time. I is hard to whip a U turn with the Queen Mary. He still has 3 - 7 years to work on it.

I would say he has 3. If not only one more year til the mid term elections.

On the smaller items, he has several years, but on the big items such as Health Ins. Reform and Afghanistan, he has no more than a year, but probably only six months. Once the fall campaign begins, Congress will be hesitant to enact any large piece of legislation. Dem strategists are already counting the number of seats they will lose. If he doesn't get the changes he wants with the current power structure (i.e., with the Repubs totally powerless), when will such changes happen? It's now or never for the Democrats.
