"The Word" by Nancy Pelosi
This was just odd. I assume she was trying to refer to "Jesus Christ" without having to publically use his name....and it just comes out very odd sounding to me. If she has to work so hard to not use His name, why did she even go there in the first place. She was giving a speech....she could have just left this whole bit out. But going there the way she did was just weird.

I am sure that there are many who did not understand her and were confused about what she was talking about. Although I did sense a bit of honest emotion from her as spoke, she did not appear to be comfortable using religion-speak.
I agree with Alan's comment. Religion-speak will almost always offend someone. I am guessing that she is very well aware of this and that she struggling to not offend and to be somewhat honest.
Pelosi is in a situation, or perhaps more justly, has created a situation where her words are so criticized that criticisms of her on these levels are no longer of any concern to me.
