I am sure that many of you are watching the conference.
Some notable notes:
President Monson announced new temples to be built in Calgary, Canada; Cordoba, Argentina; the greater Kansas City area; Philadelphia; and Rome, Italy.
The Rome, Italy announcement was especially interesting.
President Monson paused a moment and the congregation rustled with mild surprise. Some oohed and some chuckled.
Also, there was a between-session one-hour documentary on President Monson's life, which was especially good. In fact, the between-session documentary that KSL runs are always very good, and I look forward to watching them.
Primary children sang during the second Saturday session.
I was very touched, and President Monson's eyes were red from crying.
The five new temples will bring the worldwide total to 145.

Why the ooing and chuckling because of the Rome announcement?
Don't bother to answer.
Of course I already know the answer to this.
A temple in Mecca, now that would bring aahh's from me!
I didn't hear chuckling....but I did hear the ooos and ahs....and I was ooing and awing as I heard it too out of sheer excitment, but not as a jab to the Catholics of Rome. I just visited Rome last August and was awe struck by Rome's granduer. This will only add to it's amazingness!
I'm more impressed with the Greater Kansas City area temple announcement...don't forget that Joseph Smith dedicated the temple will be built there so many years ago. This is just a profecy being fulfilled! I'm jsut curious as to he location of the temple...Independence probably.
It cannot be Independence. I also was extremely please with the announcement of the Rome temple. Maybe someday a temple will be in Belgium.
Alan, the between conference on KSL are awesome. We watch them too.
I did not hear the announcement. Was it in one of the first two sessions on Saturday? I was traveling during the first two sessions. I was able to attend the Saturday Evening session and the Sunday Morning session in the convention center. I was on the main lower level off to the right. Kind of a side view of the podium.
