Schools were closed in the St.George area because of....snow and the Las Vegas streets were a mess because they do not have any snow removal? It is unreal!!!
Washington County here in St. George area closed schools with just 1/2 inch of snow outside. Rediculous...bunch of whimps. I remember having to walk a mile uphill both ways to Landon in a couple feet of snow!
It's been unusually cold in California too. All of the kids here wish it would snow, but we haven't been that lucky yet. It snows here once every ten years or so and we're past due.

It is not surprising the Las Vegas does not have snow removal equipment, but they do seem a bit wimpy when it comes to school cancellations.
I just finished removing snow from my driveway using a manual snow removal apparatus.
We've had snow in Washington D.C. but nothing that has stuck yet.

I agree with you for St. George. Their reasoning was that the school buses did not have chains. At least the kids should have enjoyed it.
