Google Earth

Google Earth is a fun application which you can download and install for free.
As Google states:
Google Earth lets you fly anywhere on Earth to view satellite imagery, maps, terrain, 3D buildings, from galaxies in outer space to the canyons of the ocean. You can explore rich geographical content, save your toured places, and share with others.
I have mapped my recent trip by bicycle from my home to Trefoil Ranch.
It's about a 27-mile round trip, uphill 13.5 miles and downhill 13.5 miles with some level spots, of course. Here is the Google Earth photo.

I tried to find a way to embed the Google Earth link, but it seems complicated for me and for the reader as well. If you want the kmz file, I can email it to you if you wish.

Wow! That was a pretty difficult ride it looks to me. Congrats on that! I am up to walking/jogging 4 miles a day....but it's a slow labored jog...with alot of walking too. But at least we are doing something!

God only gave us a certain amount of heart beats. I hate to waste them on exercise.
Also, I'd lift more weights but they are just too dog gone heavy.

Pretty impressive Alan. I congratulate you. I hope you are alive after that much biking for the reunion.

I've heard that heartbeat theory before from serious thinking people. Not that the number of heartbeats are imparted from God, but that genetically we have only so many heartbeats for our lifetime within a certain range of variability. The thing that the limited-heartbeat theory misses is that the heart of a physically fit person beats more slowly that an unfit person when the person is resting or sleeping, more than making up for the rapid heartbeat during exercise.

I know I took Kim's humorous comment too seriously here, but there are those who seriously believe in a variation of Kim's idea.

There is also the notion of the quality of life that you live while you live: accelerated heartbeats often denote excitement of all varieties!
