I'm sure the Democrats don't see it this way. I think we've had plenty of discussion about analogies, but I still like them anyway, even if they skewer my own position.
I'll never get why Democrats are considered to be the party anxious to facilitate the lazy. As if the notion of being needy is just a fringe element of laziness.
But to be fair, Republicans are pegged with the reputation of being cold-hearted because they are perceived to not believe in government's role in helping the needy.
A cartoon produced by 'my' side would have the gentleman at the door saying, "No free candy for lazy kids! What is this walking door to door begging? Go get a job and buy your own candy or at least sponge off your own parents!" And the kids would be saying, 'Geeze, another Republican!"
