If there is anything that firmly demonstrates the herd mentality of the media, it is all these news stories about an 89-year-old crank's prediction that the world would end today. People often predict the end of the world. They are always wrong and always will be. Was there something about this particular prediction that was newsworthy? The today there are news stories that the world still exists. Really! Did reporters expect their readers to be surprised? Why was this inanity a major news story?

I have asked my self the same thing? Why was this one newsworthy? Maybe because he did a better job getting his voice heard...who knows. In the end though, I keep wondering how he missed the part in the bible that says that no one knows the day of the coming of a the Lord. "He'll come like a thief in the night". You can't predict that with mathematics! This rapture thing is also completely incorrect doctrine I think. I am quite sure he isn't going to be yanking people out of their clothes and poof...a big hand full will be gone from the earth.
