Obama to lift ban on federal funds aiding abortion.

And the fun begins. Yes...I am aware that it is normal for incoming president to reverse bills that the out going President had in place. This bill has reversed every time a new party president has come into office. I don't just don't agree with tax payer money going to fund abortions. Especially to international agencies who probably won't be held accountable for how they use the money we give them.

I too am disappointed in this. I have hopes of a more moderate Obama but I am shaking my head at this one. Hold on tight. We may be in for a ride.

He is keeping some promises (the abortion one), but already breaking others. He promised absolutely no lobbyists in his administration, but Mr. Obama's nominee for deputy secretary of defense, William Lynn, has been a lobbyist for the defense contractor Raytheon, and his nominee for deputy secretary of health and human services, William V. Corr, lobbied for stricter tobacco regulations as an official with the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids.

How about federals funds to help a woman who has been raped, a victim of incest, or whose life is in danger and who has no insurance?

I assume you would approve of such funds being spent in these cases given the LDS church allows for abortions in these situations. May I assume that your stance is nuanced at this level?

I willing to accept such nuance, but our current government leaders sure aren't. Also, it's easy for doctors to fudge since "life is in danger" is such a huge gray area.

I believe that under those extreme situations women have been able to get federal funds all along and I do not oppose that so much, as I oppose the use of the federal funds for women who live a careless lifestyle and puts her self at risk for unwanted pregnancies and then uses abortion as a form of birth control.
