Mormons back gay rights lawJust minutes after reading Doug's blog entry this was the leading story when I signed on to yahoo to check my email. Just thought I would share the article incase anyone missed it. I did take offense though to the picture that accompanied the article. Such a positive article only to be diminished with controversial photos. Just didn't seem to fit the article about cooperation between the church and the gay community.

I, too, am sorry that the photos did not match the spirit of the reality and the article.
I spoke with Bill Evans at the council meeting. He did an admirable job of defending the church's position today on KSL. The Sutherland Institute is attacking the church's statement (the Sutherland Institute is a conservative so called think-tank here in SLC.)
I saw Doug on KSL news tonight for about 2 seconds.
One thing that really bothers me about these news reports is how broadly they paint certain groups. For example, the news report on KSL stated that "The gay community is cheering and conservatives are disappointed." That is a bunch of hooey. The Sutherland Institute may be disappointed, but that hardly means all conservatives are disappointed. The Sutherland Institute is only a small part of the conservative movement and it does not speak for us all.
