Dear children,
It would be good if each family would write something about his or her family every month.
This is mine:
We are having very hot and humid weather but things should start cooling off.
Dad has almost finished furnishing a new apartment. That is good because the senior couple arrives Tuesday the 5th of August.
The Sisters are teaching a young woman that has a story amazingly similar to mine before I joined the Church. So, I have been teaching with the Sisters, I love it and will continue to do so.
One of the Assistants to the President is from Sweden, one of our Zone Leaders is from Switzerland and we have sisters in our Zone from Brazil and France. Other countries are represented in the mission but this was just in our Zone.
It is so good to be able to have your ideas on different subjects, in fact I really enjoy it. Keep them coming.
We have not been able to get in touch with Kim yet.
We love you and pray for you.
With love,
Mom

We are finishing up our second full season of "Thursday Thunder" racing. We have learned a lot this past season even though we have not been as successfull at the track as we would have liked. We were rained out last Thursday just after the heat races but before the feature races. We will finish the 10 week series next Thursday with double feature races.
School starts in two days for the boys. They each got contact lenses and braces on this past week. Expensive week getting them ready for their sophmore year in high school.
Jeanne continues to work at Galaxy Gates and I continue to work at Delta. I actually complete one year at Delta as of August 6th. We are excited about that because as of that date I get off first year pay and get a 51% pay increase followed by a 3% pay increase in January.
Jeanne serves in the RS and in Primary, Shawn as the teachers quorum president, Dallan without a calling and I am in my third year on the stake high council.
Let's keep prompting others to join in on this blog! I must have too much time on my hands because I check the blog 4-5 times daily.
For what it's worth:
I am still working 65-70 hours a week at both Village Inn and Applebee's. Village Inn wants me to go back into management but I lvoe serving so much that I am reluctant to do it...besides, I make more money in tips serving than I do in management.
I just got home fom a FABULOUS week long vacation. I drove down to Las Vegas, got a Penthouse Suite at Binion's for $35/night. This thing had a fancy living room, dining room, Master Suite, and three...yes three bathrooms (I used all three...just to say I could). I then drove down to Tucson and stayed with Kim and Amy. They are doing well. I spent the weekend with Elaine and Rachel (it was her birthday). I then drove back to Vegas for two more nights and saw some shows and such. Steak and Lobster for $8.99...I love good deals! I saw the shows "Marriage is Murder" at the 4 Queens and "Tournament of Kings" at Excalibur. I then drove to St. George and played a round of golf with some friends. I have gotten pretty darn good at golf this past summer. I just shot 7 over par last week...best so far.
Lawrence is still doing great in Thailand...changes are coming next week and he thinks he'll get transfered to a ZL area. He comes home in December and will spend Christmas in Kansas and then come out to SLC and live with me and go to SLCC for a semester and then transfer over to the U of U.
Tito just left the MTC last week and arrived safely in Hong Kong. He is speaking Cantonese Chinese...or trying to. He is doing great and LOVES Hong Kong.
Becky is still in Virginia attending SVU. She is scheduled to graduate next May with a Liberal Arts degree majoring in Art and History. She is currently working as an intern at the Virginia Military Academy Museum and Library.
Scotty is entering his Senior Year at Washburn rural H.S. in Topeka.
That about does it.
