Kim's Retirement - Kind of...

After 28 years of service to our nation, I'm going to be officially retired out of the Army effective 31 May 2009. I mention this now just in the remote case that any of you might like to attend the ceremony in May. The exact date is yet to be determined. I do know that my retirement ceremony will be held at Fort Myer, next to Arlington National Cemetary in Washington D.C. Dad was the one that Commissioned me and it would be cool to have him there at the finish line. When I said in the title Kim's retirement - "kind of" I said that because it appears as if once I retire, I am going to be picked up on the Retiree Recall list to serve more Active Duty time here at Fort Belvoir due to the need for officeres with my skill set. Sounds crazy, I know but such is the life of a Soldier...

Congratulations and envy from Alan. I am 49.5 years old and I am already wishing I could retire.

So now you will be able to use that penthouse on the beachfront in Hawaii!

Congratulations Kim. You look so official and important. How can we get a copy of that photo? It's not likely I will be able to go to the retirement ceremony, although, that is something I would love to do.

To print the photo, just right click on the photo and select copy. Right click and paste it onto your desk top. You can save and print from there.

Debbie and I would consider going if it might coincide with Becky's graduation from SVU in May. Also, Becky is due in May so if everything worked out well, maybe we could be there for your retirement, Becky's graduation and then Becky could immeditely deliver and I could see my first grandson/daughter.
