The church welfare system and humanitarian services often go unnoticed by the general public. Members understand the system, but are unaware of the scope. Many of us have volunteered at church farms, canneries, and distribution centers. Our family did very well last year, so we have not volunteered as much. Instead, we have increased our fast offering.
Our weakness is our food storage. We need to do better.
It is a little worry to me that when we are on a mission we don't have a year food storage at home. We always give all the can goods and other perishable items to the needy our our Ward before we leave. We will need to start again once we get home. We still have wheat and rice but not enough food to live a year. It is important to follow the prophets' advice. Pt. Monson said that hard times are coming and we should all be prepared. Please make sure that you are. M
