Evangelicals Wary of Romney

Is it just evangelical leaders who are intolerant of Mormons? Or are there some evangelicals who actually implement the teachings of toleration that their ministers preach (but don't practice themselves)? Evangelicals have much in common politically with LDS, but I guess emotion is gets the best of evangelicals.

I don't know what the commotion is all about. Do they not realize that Mormons have been serving in federal government for years. Pres. Ezra Taft Benson was Sec. or Agriculture, Democrate Harry Reid is Senate Majority Leader and a practacing Mormon. David Kennedy was Sec of Treasury for 2 years and a Mormon signature was on every paper money printed. Mormons are disproportionately represented in the CIA due to the language skills of returned missionaries. So why the big fuss now? Joseph Smith ran for president in 1844 and mormons have been serving in the US House of Representatives since 1898 since B.H. Roberts a General Authority was elected.

They really believe that you are not Christians. I find this endlessly offensive. If you are not Christians, you are not worthy to lead, do not have sufficient values to follow and enforce their ideals . They apply this rhetoric to all other religions that they consider to be non-Christian. They do not want to vote for a Muslim, a Mormon, a Hindu or an atheist for this reason. They are closed minded.
