Obama will sign spending bill despite earmarks

See....Every President does it. They make promises and break them....he's no different than the rest. If he refused earmarks for the economic stimulus plan, why can't he refuse them in his budget...like he campaigned for?

You are right, Just more of the same in that regard.

The thing is that the stimulus plan was chock full of pork. It was a porkulus bill.

Obama promised no pork: broken
Obama promised no lobbyist in his administration: broken
Obama promised a pull out from Iraq in 18 months: he has now stated otherwise
I am not keeping track of the other promises, but I am sure there are more to come.

I acknowledge that other politicians of both parties routinely break promises, but Obama said he would be the change we all needed, but he has turned out be a same 'ol same 'ol politician.

My point exactly, same ol' same ol'...accept he is keeping a promise, and that is to tax the rich at a higher rate to help fund his bigger government. That he promised, and that he is going to do. My worry...the bigger the government, the more red tape, the need to account will likely mean that the poor will get lost in the shuffle and more promises will go unfulfilled. In my opinion, smaller government is better, and local governments should take on more of the mothership responsibilties. Keep it close to home, where you can account for what's going on and less people will be lost in the shuffle.
