Beck Stumbles

Although I agree with Beck on many issues, I just find him too animated to listen to for more than 5-10 minutes at a time. I think his comments about Obama are not quite accurate. While I do not believe that Obama is racist. I do believe that he is more inclined to promote a black agenda even if it may be unfair. i.e. He jumped all over the white cop that arrested his friend and said they acted "stupidly" while admitting he did not have the facts of the case. But I do not think he believes the black race is genetically superior to the white race, which is the definition of a racist. He just sides with the black community when ever occation arises.

I used to listen to Beck in his early radio days, and he was very funny back then. He only touched lightly on politics and sometimes it was hard to tell which side of the political spectrum he preferred, but now he has dived head first into political talk radio and television, and he just isn't very good at it. He is quickly becoming a combination of Al Franken (not funny) and Keith Olbermann (bomb thrower). I wish he would go back to his old radio format ON THE RADIO.

Obama is not racist, but he does believe that a large percentage of white America is racist, which is the source of his knee jerk reaction in the Gates brouhaha. I think his "acted stupidly" remark was a turning point of some kind in the eyes of many. At that time, he still had a chance to show some leadership and come out on top in the health care debate, but he stuck his nose into a minor local matter and threw race into the discussion. In essence, he lit himself on fire for no good reason and squandered a good amount of goodwill with independents.

Glen Beck has not merely stumbled, he has fallen flat on his face.

Glen Beck, and I have listened to him periodically for 10 to 15 minutes at a time as I drive, has slipped into conspiracy mode to such an extent that it is difficult to take the entirety of his arguments seriously at all. He is quite sure that there is a grand plan orchestrated by the the eternally spooky 'they' to rob us of our way of life.

I don't think he will be long for TV. Michael Savage similarly self-destructed given a bigger stage. His ideas, claims, unpredictable rants, end up causing a flight of advertisers and a bad name for the hosting network. His anger and conspiratorial nature are just not sustainable.
