Go Cougars!

BYU wins 44-0 over the hapless Wyoming Cowboys. BYU has now scored 103 unanswered points!

I am concerned that our second string offense could do absolutely NOTHING! here didn't seem to be much drop off once the first string defense left the game but when our first string offense left the game...well, we ground to a halt!

AND the most impressive is two straight shut-outs.
I hope they get a third in a row against Utah State.

I hope they will no longer play Utah State. That is a rivalry that ought to go by the wayside until USU can compete. It does BYU no good to beat them relentlessly. Scheduling BCS teams home or away is the strategy that Mendenhall has embraced.

I know that schedules are set years in advance. It is time to drop Utah State.

I agree wholehearted with Doug on this one. BYU needs to continue to try to schedule better teams for our non-conference schedule. Utah beating Michigan in the "big House" actually put Utah on the national radar. The only thing impressive about the BYU win over UCLA was the point spread. Had they beat the Bruins by 14 or less would have just meant that we beat a PAC-10 team at home...nothing more. But 59-0 really made us stand out. We need more teams like when we beat Miami a few years back on national t.v. Those are the games that will advance us up the polls faster and into BCS contention better. Playing UNI or Utah State doesn't help much...but then Utah-Utah State isn't a fun game to watch either.

Just a note about the UNI game. BYU didn't have a choice. That weekend was originally scheduled to be Nevada, but they pulled out leaving BYU high and dry. UNI was all BYU could get at such a late date.
