McCain's Bad Week
I think that McCain is beginning to flail. Even George Will on ABC's Sunday morning news program was not encouraging. Mr. Will may favor Senator McCain, but by my interpretation of his comments this morning, he is clearly nervous about Senator McCain. I think that the case for choosing McCain is getting tougher to make. I cannot begin to express this better than what was said on the program. I suggest that you go to abcnews.go.com/politics and click on the video of this morning's Roundtable discussion. I learned a lot about the economic disasters that we are dealing with. About 8 or 9 minutes into the discussion, the subject turned to the presidential race as it applies to our economy's troubles.

I watched the video.
I always thought that Sam Donaldson was a weeny (and has a silly toupee), and this video confirmed it for me. I agree with Donna Brazile that we shouldn't necessarily hurry to throw printing-press loads of money at the problem. However, I think Brazile's reason is not caution, but her desire to string out the issue for the benefit of Obama. They really didn't discuss the cause of the financial meltdown (but I think a good summary of the problem can be found at http://ibdeditorial.com/IBDArticles.aspx?id=306370789279709)
Sure. McCain has had a bad week. He really isn't very good at economic issues and it shows. However, there is a long way to go and we haven't even had a debate yet. I think that Obama has more to lose in the debates than does McCain. Obama just doesn't come across well without a teleprompter (he even used one at a rodeo the other day).
I went to the abc link Doug provided but could not find the video clip. 42 days and we will have 20/20 vision.
